Histroy I is about a general everybody. It is a self portrait (generalized self of the masses) painted on 24 history books to show the relationship between the two things. The history books are just an example of what we are fed throughout our lives, which is generally specific to the area we grow up in. The background is covered in words, each book with words from that book.
�History I� is a challenge and daring invitation by the artist to go further behind the portrait and own this piece through Knowledge. Twenty four hard cover & full color history books are attached to a board with Velcro. Twelve of the books are from western history and twelve are from eastern history. The artist invites the collector to read every book from A to Z and to establish an internal conversation with oneself; it is there, at that point when Nowak�s portrait becomes the story teller, the companion in the adventure and a friend.
